Record number of entries for Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta

The Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta will see a record number of yachts taking part this year.

Audi Australia’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann, has confirmed that the company will provide a second vehicle for the Regatta - an Audi A3 – as entries have now reached a record number of 267.

The Audi A3 giveaway comes on top of the major prize which Audi offers to the winning yacht at the ASHR. The winning boat from each of the 20 categories takes part in a Final Challenge event at Eastern Creek Raceway where they will go head-to-head against other category winners in a competition of skill to determine the overall winner of the Regatta and the brand new Audi A4 sedan.

The Australian Sailing Team will also have a strong presence at the regatta and they are proudly supported by Audi Australia. Team members attending the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta this weekend include:

  • Malcolm Page on board "ESTATE MASTER"
  • Ben Austin and Nathan Outteridge on board "THE TAVERN"
  • Krystal Weir, Karyn Gojnich and Angela Farrell (the AST Yngling team) on board their Yngling
  • Anthony Nossiter SERIUS
  • Tessa Parkinson on board "RUSH"
  • Tom Slingsby on board "TRANSFUSION"
  • Elise Rechichi and Jessica Crisp

The Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta will be held this weekend 1 – 3 March 2008. A full list of boating entries to annexed to this news release.
