Yachting Australia is the national governing body for sailing and power boating, as recreation and in competition.
Yachting Australia with the state bodies (Yachting NSW) aims to develop the sport at all levels through effective governance, servicing of members, management of training, promotion of yachting, support and development of sailors, coaches, selection of national teams, nomination of Olympic teams and coordination of events.
How do I become a Yachting NSW Member?
Membership of Yachting Australia is only possible via your membership of an affiliated sailing club and is usually activated as part of the annual club subscription process. By providing your details to your Yacht Club (in accordance with the membership criteria of your respective Sailing Club) you will receive a membership card (Yachting Australia Silver Card) the following month.
Yachting Australia Membership expires each year on the 30th September. To re-new your membership please contact your sailing club
As a silver cardholder you will have access to a range of benefits including Personal Accident Insurance cover. You may also choose to obtain other insurances at an additional cost. As a cardholder, you not only receive a number of valuable benefits but you are assisting in maintaining the sport of sailing through quality management and promotion.

Yachting NSW Crew Club
Yachting NSW also has a membership category called Crew Club which enables sailors who are not members of an affiliated sailing club to be members of Yachting NSW thus allowing them to compete under the RRS 46 and to enjoy some of the benefits of individual membership.

Where is my card?
Yachting Australia Silver Cards are printed for all states externally once a month. Receiving your card can take between 2-6 weeks to arrive.
Please note: The physical card is purely symbolic and you can check your membership details online via the MySailor system using your YA number and password. If you are unsure of these details, give us a call on 8116 9800.
What do I do if I have lost my card?
Please contact your club if you lose or misplace your card. A fee is charged to have your card reissued.
