Calling all Etchells Sailors to the 2012 NCYC Etchells Offshore Regatta - October long weekend!
Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and Lake Macquarie Etchells Fleet Inc. invite all Etchells sailors to race in the 2012 NCYC Etchells Offshore Regatta over the Labour Day long Weekend (29 September to 1 October 2012).
Similar to previous years the regatta will be raced off Newcastle unless poor weather requires a harbour course to be set.
With a view to building on 2011 entry numbers and interstate interest in the regatta already being shown NCYC is hopeful that a fleet of 15-20 will race this year. The services of National Race Officer Phil Collyer have been secured for the regatta and NCYC’s normal volunteers will assist to make the regatta great fun both on and off the water. NCYC will provide free hardstand, cranage and berthing facilities during regatta.
With sentiments expressed by the competitor’s including Roger 'Hicko' Hickman (Sun Tzu) like 'I love getting up to Newcastle. It is such a great place to go racing given its ease of access to a great offshore track and fantastic facilities and great hospitality' where else would you want to be for the long weekend but sailing at Etchells off Newcastle.
